MEDIA ADVISORY

For immediate release - April 25, 2008

SARNIA-LAMBTON TO BE FEATURED AT BIO WORLD CONGRESS

Sarnia-Lambton, Ontario – Sarnia-Lambton will be featured in Chicago next week at the annual World Congress on Industrial Biotechnology and Bioprocessing.

Joel Adams, Director of the University of Western Ontario Research & Development Park; Archie Kerr, Co-Chairperson, Bluewater Sustainability Initiative and Director of Sustainability for Lanxess; and George Mallay, General Manager of the Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership, will be manning a panel discussion on “Building a Successful Bio-Economy Cluster in Canada”. The one and a half hour session will focus on Sarnia-Lambton’s comprehensive approach to the bioeconomy, our unique local partnerships between industry and community, and The University of Western Ontario Research Park and it’s new Bioindustrial Innovation Centre. Following the session the three will participate in a question and answer session.

"Industry is learning that it needs to be more innovative, and is developing new bio-based processes that are economically competitive with existing products,
made from renewable sources, and manufactured in a way that does not impact the
environment,” indicates Archie Kerr, Directory Sustainability Lanxess Inc. “The conference brings together the world's top scientists and entrepreneurs to discuss these issues.”"

Held this year in Chicago and now in its fifth year, the Bio World Congress has grown to become one of the leading conferences in the bioindustrial sector. The conference runs April 27 – 30, 2008. The panel discussion featuring Sarnia-Lambton will take place on April 30, at 2:30 p.m.
