  • Safety training    The Sarnia Construction Association, the Sarnia Heavy Construction Association, the Sarnia-Lambton Industrial Education Co-operative, and the workforce have resulted in a Lost Time Injury record substantially better than the Ontario average. Compared to Ontario's frequency of 2.10 for every 2,000 hours worked, Sarnia-Lambton sustained 0.60; the Sarnia Construction Association 0.23; and the Sarnia Heavy Construction Association 1.20 (source -  WSIB, 2006 data).

The Sarnia-Lambton Industrial Educational Co-operative (IEC) is an organization of 19 industrial companies in Sarnia-Lambton, and Lambton College. The organization provides safety training and certification to over 200 industrial contractors who service the IEC member companies' industrial sites. The IEC has gained international recognition for helping organizations achieve world-class safety performance through safety and leadership development programs.
