Having Fun

Organized sports leagues, including hockey, baseball, soccer, curling, lacrosse, rugby and
gymnastics, keep local playing fields and sports venues busy, and Sarnia's professional hockey club, the Sting of the Ontario Major Junior League, receive enthusiastic home-town support.

The Sarnia Sports and Entertainment Centre, Sarnia-Lambton's premier sports and entertainment facility, is a 4,500-seat complex featuring twin ice pads, restaurant, 45,000 square feet of exhibit show space and concert capacity for 6,000.  Forest and Petrolia have also recently opened brand new recreation centres for their communities.

Sarnia-Lambton offers gaming excitement - featuring an  OLG Casino with slot machines and gaming tables, and a Slots and horse racing at Hiawatha Horse Park and Entertainment Centre.

The clean waters of the St. Clair River and Lake Huron are perfect for swimming, boating, sailing and fishing. Municipal and private marinas and clubs offer dockage, service and sales to the boating community.

Golfers enjoy the challenge of the area's 20 well-groomed golf courses, at affordable prices.

Pinery Provincial Park provides campers with 6,532 hectares of Carolinian and Oak Savanna forest. It is home to some 29 species of mammals, 700 species of plants, 300 species of birds and 60 species of butterflies. The Park includes 1,000 campsites, yurt rentals, handicapped-accessible trails and facilities, canoeing, cross-country skiing, winter camping, and miles of sandy beach. In addition to the Pinery, campers can choose from many welcoming privately owned tent and trailer parks.

With more than 60 recreational parks and conservation areas, Sarnia-Lambton has an abundance of natural attractions for residents and visitors to enjoy. Day trippers enjoy the series of parks that dot the shore of the St. Clair River, from Sarnia to Port Lambton. The community takes its stewardship of the environment seriously - continuing to protect the area's natural habitat with a system of nature preserves and wet lands.

Sarnia-Lambton communities and volunteers are working to complete an extensive system of multi-use, pedestrian and bicycling trails - with the goal of linking to the Trans Canada Trail Network.

Sarnia-Lambton - you'll love it - naturally!
