Petrolia Industrial Parks

Petrolia, "Canada's Victorian Oil Town - The Cradle that Rocked the Oil Industry," was home to the North American oil industry during the late 1800s. It has evolved into a progressive industrial community, rich in Victorian architecture. The town is less than an hour's drive west of London and about a half-hour's drive from Sarnia and the Ontario / Michigan border. Petrolia occupies a 3,138 acre (12.7 square-kilometre) in the central region of Sarnia-Lambton. Its population is 5,528.

Many local businesses evolved from servicing the oil industry in the 1800s. Today, a wide range of products are manufactured in Petrolia, from building products to metal packaging and automotive parts. A significant addition to Petrolia's economy was Waterville TG Inc. in 1998. The company, a subsidiary of the Japanese multinational Toyoda Gosei (which is a leading manufacturer of rubber-based products for the automotive industry), operates a 268,000 square foot production facility.

Petrolia is a retail and service centre for the Central Lambton Area.
