The Sarnia Lambton Industrial Alliance (SLIA) is a cluster of progressive manufacturers, machine shops, engineering and environmental service companies located in South Western Ontario Canada.
From its historic roots as the location of Canada's first oil gusher in 1862, Lambton County has grown to become Canada’s petro-chemical and refining centre, and also is home to a diverse range of industries including chemical production, automotive, engineering, instrumentation, metal and plastics fabrication, machining and environmental solutions for process and other types of manufacturing industries.
As an internationally significant centre for industrial chemical industries, and home to many well known multi-national firms including BP Energy, LANXESS, DuPont, Exxon-Mobil (through it’s Canadian affiliate Imperial Oil Limited), NOVA, Shell and Suncor, there has been work outsourced to specialist smaller firms for many generations to meet the demands of the multi-nationals.
Sarnia-Lambton’s past and present create a solid foundation for its future. New Cleantech and Industrial Bioproduct sectors are no longer futuristic concepts. SLIA companies have worked to provide these sectors with the necessary high quality, innovative and precision services that they have been providing to the traditional large, and demanding, petro-chemical companies, for many generations. In addition, many SLIA companies have adapted these skills and abilities to a wide range of products and services.
SLIA companies have the background knowledge and proven ability to help develop new products, establish and improve production quality, reduce overall costs and add value to many outside organizations.
