Point Edward Land Sales Pending

March 12, 2018 – Lee Michaels, Blackburn News – A prominent Sarnia-area construction and management company is in the process of selling-off over 60 acres of land in Point Edward.

Steeves and Rozema CEO John Scotland says a purchase agreement is in place for 26 acres of property long occupied by the Par 3 Holiday Inn Golf Club. He says an unnamed developer has conceptual drawings for over 100 single family dwellings or a multi-residential development.

Scotland says purchase agreements are also in place for three other parcels of land including five acres northwest of Mariner Village towards the casino and 1.5 acres of open field between 1500 and 1550 Venetian Blvd.

Another 29 acres across from the Cargill Aghorizon grain elevators off Exmouth St. are being eyed for commercial development. Scotland says some of the land is “slightly contaminated” by sand castings from the former Holmes Foundry, and any development would be subject to sound studies and setbacks.

Scotland says the potential sales, promoted by local developers, are going through due diligence, checking legal status.
