May 18, 2018 – The Observer – Lambton College captured a third consecutive research and leadership award recently from Colleges and Institutes Canada.
The bronze honour for innovation in applied research excellence reflects on the college’s commitment to research and its impact on businesses, the local community, the province, and students enrolled in Lambton programs, the college said, in a news release.
The award was presented in Victoria, British Columbia late last month, college officials said.
“I am very proud of Lambton College’s accomplishments in applied research,” said Mehdi Sheikhzadeh, executive dean of applied research and innovation, in the release.
“To continue to be recognized nationally for our strength in this area emphasizes the quality of the work being done by our college, and most importantly, the opportunities it provides our students who get to work closely with our partners on real-world applied research projects.”
In the college’s 2016-17 fiscal year, Lambton was involved in 211 research projects, collaborating with 223 partners, and engaging more than 260 researchers – including students, graduates, faculty, staff and adjunct researchers, the college said.
