Community branding research results presentation slides available

Sarnia-Lambton, Ontario – November 04, 20143 – Sarnia-Lambton residents have an opportunity to view the PowerPoint slides presented as part of Ed Barlow’s recent public presentations on community branding for Lambton County. In mid-October Barlow, of North Star Destination Strategies, met with members of the local community at two public meetings to review the results of months of in-depth research conducted as part of the community branding initiative underway in Lambton County.

To view the presentation slides from the public meetings go to www.slep.wpengine.com/documents/BRANDING_LambtonResearchResults.pdf or call the Economic Partnership office, or any of the community branding partners, to receive a copy.

“The research was in-depth and resulted in a lot of great information about how we are perceived and how we perceive ourselves,” notes Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership general manager George Mallay. “We hope these presentation slides will help in providing this important background information to those that could not attend the public meetings.”

The next phase of the community branding initiative will be the logo and tag line, based on the research and resulting “brand identity” defined by the research phase: “For those who appreciate the value of industry and the beauty of nature, Sarnia-Lambton County is a border region in south western Ontario, home to scenic farmland, blue waters, energy pioneers that creates the right chemistry for discoveries that matter, so you can make a difference.”

Mallay noted that, even after the community receives its logo and tag line, anticipated for March 2014, the most important part of community branding is still to come. “A true brand is much more than a logo and tag line. We will all have to work to make this brand part of our identity and part of our every-day use. This will form the foundation for stronger integrated marketing campaigns that are essential to community growth and prosperity.”

The community branding partners are: Blue Water Bridge Authority; Community Round Table; County of Lambton; Grand Bend and Area Chamber of Commerce; Lambton College; Sarnia-Lambton Local Immigration Partnership; Sarnia Lambton Chamber of Commerce; Sarnia-Lambton Real Estate Board; Sarnia Lambton Workforce Development Board; Sarnia-Lambton Business Development Corporation; Sarnia Arts Community; Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership; Tourism Sarnia-Lambton.
