Community Improvement Plans for Sarnia

The City of Sarnia is looking to hear from businesses and residents on how it can support Mitton Village, Northgate and downtown Sarnia through the use of Community Improvement Plans. These are financial investment tools  that aim to stimulate and support key community outcomes, such as affordable housing, safety, beautification and economic/business revitalization

A number of suggestions have already been put forward during initial conversations with stakeholders. You can read these in the “Background Review Memo” that is now available on the City’s public consultation website.

How you can participate:

  • Read the “Background Review Memo” and reflect on your vision for the neighbourhoods.
  • Subscribe here to follow this project and receive updates, including an upcoming survey and a follow-up to the Background Review.
  • Register on Eventbrite to attend a Virtual Workshop on October 7, 2020.
  • Spread the word within the community.
  • Participate in or observe the Public Meeting of Council on November 23, 2020.

Approval of the new Community Improvement Plan will be considered by Sarnia City Council at the December 7, 2020 meeting.
