February 22, 2022 – A 20-megawatt battery system – expected to be the largest of its kind in North America when it goes into operation later this year at the Imperial Oil site in Sarnia – will be built, owned and operated by Boston-based Enel X.
While Enel X will maintain control of the large facility, energy savings and other financial benefits from its operation will be shared with Imperial Oil.
