Smart Sarnia-Lambton Marketing Initiative
The “Smart Sarnia-Lambton Marketing Initiative” will directly benefit rural communities in the Sarnia-Lambton area by highlighting our value propositions in innovative agriculture, innovative processes, and innovative products that are finding success and representative of several sectors that are key to the local rural economies. This project will attract new businesses and entrepreneurs to the region, resulting in the expansion of the tax base and bolstered job creation. This will also showcase the lifestyle benefits of working and living in the Sarnia-Lambton area’s rural communities by providing testimonials to the experiences of those who live and work there.
The initiative will attract and retain jobs and investment by supporting: entrepreneur attraction, industry attraction, succession planning initiatives, and newcomer attraction. This project will do so by highlighting innovation that occurs in Sarnia-Lambton through a multi-media focused marketing campaign. This campaign will include the development of testimonial videos showcasing the value propositions of locating a business in rural Sarnia-Lambton communities as identified in the current RED project, “SLEP BR&E and Rural Development Project” as well as companies and entrepreneurs that are engaging in innovative business practices across multiple key sectors in the region, including innovative agriculture, innovative processes, and innovative products.
The developed content will include ten videos and written profiles where innovative businesses and entrepreneurs discuss their story, why Sarnia-Lambton is the ideal location for their businesses and how the region supports their innovative methodologies. These videos will represent several rural municipalities in the Sarnia-Lambton region, and showcase the advantages and unique value propositions each can provide. An eleventh video will focus on the value propositions for the Sarnia-Lambton area as a whole and why its rural municipalities are the ideal location for innovative businesses, entrepreneurs, and newcomers to locate.
These videos and articles will be used to promote the municipalities that each business featured is located in, as well as the various sectors that the businesses operate in – each sector being core to the industrial mix of Sarnia-Lambton. They can also be used regionally to promote business in rural Ontario and rural Canada, as well as on a global scale at trade shows, through social media, and presentations, ensuring that the project will have longer-term economic development outcomes through association with ongoing and future projects that are tied to the Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership’s 2018-2023 Strategic Plan and Marketing Initiative.
