Lambton County has received an A-plus credit rating from Standard and Poor.

In a recent update, the financial research and analysis company said the rating reflects the county’s “very positive” liquidity, low debt burden and budgetary performance.

The county has historically received an A-plus in the annual rating.

Standard and Poor said the outlook for Lambton is stable, with expectations its tax-supported debt will stay below 30% of projected operating revenues over the next two years.

“This latest credit rating demonstrates the County of Lambton’s continued commitment to employing prudent and responsible fiscal management tactics,” said Warden Todd Case.
