National applause for Lambton College

June 2, 2016 – The Observer – Lambton College received a national nod this week for its work in research and innovation.

Colleges and Institutes Canada gave the Sarnia-based community college its gold honour for innovation in Applied Research Excellence, honouring it for institutional commitment and its research’s impact on business, the local community, the province, and its students, according to a news release.

Lambton College has been involved in 157 research projects since 2013, generating significant investment, officials said. Last year the college’s research revenue rose 70.3 per cent.

“Applied research at Lambton College is innovative, visionary, productive and entrepreneurial,” said college president Judith Morris in the release.

“Not only have these initiatives provided a successful framework for our faculty, students and staff to work closely with our partners on real applied research projects, but they have also had a major impact on economic development across the province,” she said.

Lambton College also recently won an Outstanding Business Achievement Award in the innovation category from the Sarnia-Lambton Chamber of Commerce.
