Plans to invest in Suncor’s Sarnia refinery and community

In remarks to community leaders, government officials and business partners, Suncor Energy Executive Vice President Tom Ryley talked Suncor’s plans to invest in the Sarnia-Lambton region investment that Ryley says will provide environmental, social and economic benefits to this key region for Suncor’s business. Planned investments for Suncor’s Sarnia refinery will provide construction and long-term jobs in the region, while a $500,000 gift to the Bluewater Health Foundation will support long-term community health initiatives.

“This is part of our triple bottom line philosophy,” said Ryley. “To Suncor, being a sustainable energy company means managing our business in a way that enhances social and economic benefits to society, while striving to minimize the environmental impacts associated with resource development.
