Sarnia-Lambton highlighted at Bio-Based Chemicals East conference

Sarnia-Lambton, Ontario – Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership General Manager George Mallay is a panellist today at the Bio-Based Chemicals East conference in Boston Massachusetts. The conference is focussed on the future of the new bio-based chemicals sector.

At 1:50 p.m. Mallay will be participating in a three-person panel titled “Government R&D Policy for Bio-Based Chemicals”. The group will discuss and respond to questions regarding: the growing recognition of bio-based chemicals; government R&D policies; and leading markets. The panel discussion is part of the conference’s Cutting Edge Bio-Conversion Technology Showcase.

“Sarnia-Lambton’s participation in the conference is indicative of the growing recognition our area is receiving as an axis for bio-industrial research and our position as a global chemical centre”, noted Mallay.

Mallay will join fellow panellists Harry Baumes (Acting Director, Office of Energy Policy & New Uses, Office of the Chief Economist, USDA) and Rina Singh (Director, Policy, Biotechnology Industry Organization).
