Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership Hosts Annual General Meeting

The Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership (SLEP) Board of Directors met for its Annual General Meeting and Community Meeting Tuesday, June 23.  Nearly 70 representatives from the community were present to:
  • Hear a presentation from Kelly Hill, Hill Strategies Research regarding the Creative Economy of Sarnia-Lambton and opportunities for the creative sector to positively impact economic growth in the region.
  • Hear a presentation from Mike Ireland, Senior Development Consultant, SLEP regarding the local polypropylene study.

  • Hear a community update presentation from George Mallay, General Manager, SLEP in which future priorities for the organization were highlighted including:  attracting six new firms to the region; supporting the development of 150 small businesses; supporting the Sarnia Lambton Industrial Alliance in the pursuit of a heavy haul corridor for the region; and the revitalization of local telecommunication and transportation services.

  • Receive SLEP’s audited financial statements for the 2014 fiscal year.

The Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership is funded by the County of Lambton, the private sector, and senior levels of government.  It reports to an independent board which works closely with its municipal partners, the private sector and senior levels of government to encourage economic growth and provide economic activities which better all regions of Lambton County.
