Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership kicks off

The Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership (SLEP) is happy to announce the beginning of their “Show Us Your Sarnia-Lambton” photo contest. The aim of the contest is to enhance the photo library of the SLEP for community promotion. “We need your pictures to help us to promote the area more effectively” says George Mallay, General Manager of SLEP. “We encourage both individuals (residents or visitors) and businesses to submit photos. There are 5 photo categories:

  • Business and Industry

  • Special Events

  • Lifestyle/Lambton Living

  • Education

  • Tourism Destinations

“We are asking for photos in these particular categories, so that we will have more photographs for our materials that are seen around the world.” informs Mallay.

“We would like to get a pictorial representation of everything that Sarnia-Lambton has to offer. Whether it is of people enjoying our beaches, the interior of a state of the art manufacturing facility, a company picnic, or one of the many historical landmarks, we want to see the people and places of Sarnia-Lambton in action.”

Insight Data Systems of Sarnia have donated a Canon A60 digital camera for the winner of the contest. All submissions will be judged, the top 20 photos chosen, and from there a random draw will determine the winner.

Full details may be found on their newly designed website at www.slep.wpengine.com There will be several ways to submit photos: Directly to the Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership office; local municipal offices; by mail; or digital format through the website.

Ads for the contest will begin appearing soon in local media. The contest will close at 4:00 p.m. January 30, 2004. Each photo must also include a completed “entry form” so that the originator of the photograph can be contacted.
