Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership Releases 2006 Annual Report

The year 2006 was marked by continued signs of confidence in the local economy. The petrochemical and refining industries received over $2 billion in investments and this trend is expected to gain momentum. Real estate investments also continued to climb, particularly in commercial/retail sector.

The Economic Partnership engaged in a strategic planning process with the intent to take the community to a new level. Progress continues to be made in promoting Sarnia-Lambton as the place for bio-hybrids. The Hydrogen Demonstration project was launched in partnership with Lambton College and the Research Park is working toward the creation of a Bio-Hybrid Innovation Centre. The Business Enterprise Centre (BEC) expanded its mandate and export services came closer to home in Alberta. Readership to our two newsletters increased by an average of 138% and website hits remained stable over the previous year.
