Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership Wins Awards from Provincial Council

The 47 th Annual Conference of the Economic Developers Council of Ontario held its Awards of Excellence Ceremony February 04 at the Marriott Eaton Centre Hotel. The awards are sponsored by the “Globe and Mail”.

This year, the Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership received three marketing awards in separate categories:

  • 1st Place – Business Development Technology – Website ( www.slep.wpengine.com )
  •  
  • 1st Place – Business Development Advertising – Stand Alone Advertisement
  •  
  • Finalist – Business Development Publications – Brochure

The winners were chosen by a panel of judges including Glenn Marshall, Perspective Marketing; Kimberley Piper, CB Richard Ellis; Jon Rohr, Exchange Magazine; Anya Colussi, Yfactor; John Langley, Ministry of Economic Development & Trade; and Janet Whitehouse, Bell Canada .

Held in conjunction with the annual conference every year, this competition fosters the exchange of ideas and information among economic development practitioners, and recognizes excellence and imagination. This is not the first time the Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership has received such honours. In 2001, their website acquired an Award of Distinction in the Technology Website category.

The Economic Developers Council of Ontario is an independent non-profit association of professionals in the field of economic development. It is the largest provincial association of its kind in Canada and one of the largest in North America . Its members come from both the private and public sector.
