Summer Company program is open for applications!

Since 2001, the Government of Ontario has been encouraging students to transform their great ideas into a real business by offering non-repayable awards of up to $3,000. Also included is mentoring and hands-on training to turn their vision into reality.

Last summer 8 Lambton County students (between the ages of 15 and 29) successfully completed the program. Some found their businesses to be very lucrative and successful enough to continue on a part time basis while returning to school. All of the participants agreed that the experience of running their own business and the training and guidance they received were excellent.

To get more information on the program or to register as a participant go to www.ontario.ca/summercompany . David Moody at SLEP will be handling all applications for Lambton County this year and hopes to have at least 12 participants. Registration deadline is May 6, 2016.

Students are encouraged to register early as participation is limited. For more information contact David at 519-332-1820 or e-mail david@sarnialambton.on.ca
