Suncor's Sarnia refinery prepares for start-up of new diesel desulphurization unit

Suncor Energy Products Inc. announced today that the new diesel desulphurization unit at its Sarnia refinery is ready for production. <br> <br> During the start-up process, increased flaring and noise may be observed. Procedures are in place to ensure a safe start up and eliminate offsite impacts. <br> <br> The new diesel desulphurization unit is the first phase of a two part expansion and upgrade of the refinery. The second phase of this $800 million project is expected to increase the refinery's capacity to process synthetic crude oil from Suncor's oil sands operations in Fort McMurray, Alberta.
