In the midst of an increasingly challenging and changing world, Canada is currently entering a period of major investment in national defence capabilities. This investment is creating long‑term opportunities for manufacturers, technology firms, and service providers from across Ontario. It will encourage Ontario companies from many different sector backgrounds to explore exporting and international partnering opportunities in defence and security.
Many Ontario companies already have capabilities that align with global defence needs, even if they have never considered the sector before.
To support companies new to, or interested, in exporting in the defence sector, the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade (MEDJCT) is pleased to present the new Spotlight on Exporting series: Introduction to Defence Sector Exporting, taking place on November 2, 2026.
This webinar will provide an overview of the Ontario defence sector, the implications of Canada’s new defence initiatives. Participants will learn about pertinent export markets & opportunities, connect with supporting organizations & future business contacts or partners, as well as discover what security credentials, and certifications are needed for companies to forge ahead in this sector. To deliver this information in a fulsome manner, the webinar will host speakers from a variety of different levels of government, industry associations, and companies that are currently exporting in this sector. This webinar would be sector/stage agnostic, and open to any interested Ontario-based company.
Note: This webinar is organized by the Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade
