The Criminal Law Division is responsible for the conduct in Ontario of prosecutions under the Criminal Code and other Federal Statutes. The division represents the Crown in criminal appeals, provides specialized legal advice and special services such as wiretap application, extraditions and search warrants, develop Criminal Law policy recommendations, plan and promote cost-effective and timely management of the criminal justice system, administer special programs such as the Victim / Witness Assistance Program.
