On October 9, 2026, the Government of Canada announced nearly $5 million in FedDev Ontario funding for two Sarnia businesses. AlumaPower Corporation will receive $4 million through the Regional Defence Investment Initiative for an $8-million project to support the commercialization of its aluminum-fueled generator systems. The project will advance Canadian-developed clean energy technology for potential defence applications and help position it for integration into global defence supply chains.
Promart Industrial Products Ltd. will receive close to $900,000 through the Regional Tariff Response Initiative for an almost $2-million project to modernize its operations and strengthen manufacturing capabilities. New equipment and facility upgrades will help increase capacity, precision and productivity, supporting the company's efforts to diversify its markets and mitigate tariff impacts.
