November 14, 2016 - The Observer Staff - Lambton College has earned a pair of international awards for applied research and entrepreneurship.The college announced Monday it had recently been given the honours � silver in applied research and bronze in entrepreneurship � at the World Federation of Colleges and Polytechnics (WFCP) International Awards of Excellence.Applied research kudos came for demonstrating �excellence in addressing real-world challenges,� a news release from Lambton College says.Enactus Lambton earned the nod in entrepreneurship for its One Seed Project.The second annual awards were held Sept. 23-25 in Vit�ria, Brazil, according to wfcp.org.The announcement comes shortly after Lambton was ranked first in Ontario and third in Canada by Research Infosource Inc. on its latest list of Canada�s Top 50 Research Colleges.�Lambton College has a global reputation for being innovative, visionary, productive and entrepreneurial, said Judith Morris, college president and CEO, in the release.�Our work in the areas of applied research and entrepreneurship have had a major impact on economic development not only in our own community, but in Canada and around the world,� she said. �I am incredibly proud of Lambton College�s global accomplishments and thrilled to see both of these groups recognized.�Lambton has also received innovation awards this year from Colleges and Institutes Canada, and the Sarnia-Lambton Chamber of Commerce.
