Josh Boyce, Blackburn News -�NOVA Chemicals continues preparation work for a new world-scale polyethylene plant that could be built in Sarnia-Lambton in the next few years.The company has project groups in place to research the viability of building a new facility using their advanced Sclairtech Technology, and to determine the ultimate capacity of the Corunna cracker.Manufacturing Director Tom Thompson says the company is replacing a 4 km stretch of pipeline between Sarnia and Windsor.He says they�ve also received approval to connect to a second natural gas liquids pipeline.�We�ve got one supply coming in from the Marcellus Shale basin in Pennsylvania and the second source will be coming from Ohio, says Thompson.�We plan to do the final tie ins in the pipeline in early 2018 and complete the work at the plant by 2018 as well.�Thompson says the $400-million in upgrades are part of the company�s 2020 Growth Strategy.Other work includes converting the Corunna cracker to ethane, and adding 200 rail spots at the Moore facility to provide more flexibility to store product on site.
