Sarnia-Lambton Chamber looking to connect international students to local careers

Colin Gowdy - Blackburn News Sarnia, Jan. 16, 2019The Sarnia-Lambton Chamber of Commerce is hoping to connect international students to a career in the community.The Chamber is using an online survey to bridge a gap between international students and prospective employers.President Shirley de Silva said the International Student Retention Program (ISRP) survey will help around 3,000 local businesses find skilled workers.�This survey will help us identify some of the barriers that may existed around hiring international students,� said de Silva. �There are numbers of students looking for employment and there are a number employers looking for talent, so if we can help bridge those two, it would be a really good thing for our community.�de Silva said nearly 1,800 local businesses reported difficulties finding skilled workers.The online survey goes until January 20. Those who take part will be entered in a draw to win a $100 gift card to Sitara Indian Cuisine.For a link to the survey, click�here.
