VIP Rail has completed a new rail yard in Sarnia, adding 750 railcar storage spots. The expansion brings the company’s capacity across its Sarnia-area operations to more than 2,150 spots. The yard is open and accepting customers.
The additional capacity gives businesses more flexibility to manage their railcar fleets, stage equipment closer to their operations and respond to changes in production, transportation and inventory needs. It also expands the rail infrastructure available to Sarnia-Lambton’s refining, petrochemical and other industrial businesses.
VIP Rail provides railcar storage, switching, transloading, railcar cleaning and repair, warehousing, trucking and bulk liquids terminaling services in the Sarnia market. The company is owned by Alpenglow Rail.
Alpenglow Rail CEO Rich Montgomery said the expansion reflects the company’s continued commitment to its Sarnia customers. The new yard adds capacity to support existing operations and future growth in the region.
