Economic Partnership co-sponsors bi-national collaboration conference

Sarnia-Lambton, Ontario – September 09, 2013 – The Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership is pleased to co-sponsor, with partners on both sides of the Ontario / Michigan border, an important conference about economic issues that impact trade, transportation, investment, and job creation in the Blue Water region of Ontario and Michigan. The Bi-National Blue Water Regional Collaboration Conference will take place October 2, 2013, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the Double Tree by Hilton, 500 Thomas Edison Parkway, Port Huron.

Specific speaker and panel topics include: Bi-National Agri-Food Production; Green Chemistry Innovations, Strategic Approaches to Immigrant Attraction; Regional Logistics Solutions; and Joint Marketing. Keynote speaker Roy Norton, Consul General of Canada, will be discussing “Building US – Canada Prosperity through Bi-National Regional Collaboration”.

Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership General Manager George Mallay will be moderating the Green Chemistry Innovations discussion. Mallay, along with Dan Casey, CEO, Economic Development Alliance of St. Clair County, will also be offering closing remarks at the conference.

George Mallay noted, “We look forward to exploring mutually beneficial opportunities with our US partners.”
