New Program Connecting Local Employers with Global Talent

The Bridging Global Talent team in Sarnia-Lambton is excited to launch a free innovative online portal for local employers to connect directly with highly skilled international job seekers living in Ontario.

The new portal, Explore Talent Sarnia-Lambton is supported by Ontario’s Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training, and Skills Development and allows employers to hear and see video-style resumes which brings life to candidate’s experiences versus reading a traditional paper-based resume. This format will also demonstrate a candidate’s communication skills that a paper-based resume does not provide.

“Immigration plays a vital role in addressing our labour shortages,” said Monte McNaughton, Minister of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development. “We are proud to support programs like Explore Talent Sarnia-Lambton which are helping highly skilled international job seekers find meaningful careers in their communities and build Ontario for the next generation.”

“It’s through creative workforce initiatives such as this that aim to support local employer’s hiring needs and to continue strengthening the community’s talent pipeline,” said Dan Taylor, CEO Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership.

International graduates and local employers are encouraged to register for the free Explore Talent Sarnia-Lambton portal by visiting www.exploretalentsl.com.

Lambton College has been a supportive partner with this program by connecting local international graduates with these valuable community resources.

“Ensuring all of our students are well prepared to succeed in their chosen careers has always been a priority for Lambton College,” said Diana Forbes, Senior Director, Community Engagement. “We are thrilled to see an innovative local resource such as this being utilized to connect our skilled graduates with local employers.”
