Sarnia Lambton Economic Partnership Pursues Oil Sands Opportunities

Dan Tye of the Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership, along with a number of Sarnia-Lambton companies, promoted doing business with Sarnia-Lambton at the National Buyer / Seller Forum in Edmonton Alberta, March 13 -15.

With more than $147 billion of major projects announced, underway, or recently completed in Alberta, the opportunities are endless for industrial suppliers, both in Alberta and across Canada. A number of Sarnia-Lambton companies have already answered the call from the oil sands, providing needed services and products. This forum was an excellent opportunity for these local companies and others to meet Oil Sands developers, their “tier one” suppliers, and procurement personnel.

“Everywhere I went and most of the business people I spoke to from the Alberta region knew Sarnia-Lambton, and many are already doing business with us,” said Tye.

The Economic Partnership also shared display space with the Windsor-Essex region within the National Sellers Showcase, providing an opportunity to display our community, and especially our excellent engineering and metal fabrication sectors, to the over 850 delegates in attendance.

“Sarnia-Lambton companies can contact the Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership for information on how to capitalize on the opportunities presented by the oil sands developments,” said Tye.
