Greenfield Energy begins gas-fed power production

From CHOK Radio  www.chok.com

One of two natural gas-fed power plants in Lambton County is about to begin commercial operation. Greenfield Energy General Manager Ted Baldwin says performance testing is beginning today at the 620 million dollar power plant on Bickford Line in St. Clair Township.

Mr. Baldwin says because natural gas is such a clean burning fuel, we won’t notice anything unusual coming from the facility’s three stacks. Twenty-four operational and maintenance staff are being assisted by an additional 15 start-up experts. Baldwin hopes one-thousand megawatts start flowing through the Independent Electricitry System in early October.
