The Sarnia Observer – May 20, 2020

Lambton College has received another national research award.

The Sarnia college received a silver-level Applied Research and Innovation Excellence award recently from Colleges and Institutes Canada.

The award recognizes institutional commitment and the impact of college research on the community, local businesses, students and the province, Lambton College officials said.

It’s the college’s sixth award in five years from Colleges and Institutes Canada.

The college’s research and innovation department received the gold-level award in 2019 and 2016, silver in 2017, and bronze in 2018.

College vice-president of research and innovation Mehdi Sheikhzadeh was also presented with a bronze award for leadership excellence in 2017.

“I am extremely proud of Lambton College’s accomplishments in research,” Lambton president and CEO Judith Morris said in a press release.

“To continue to be recognized nationally for our strength in this area emphasizes the quality of the work being done closely with our partners on real-world research projects while providing our partners the opportunity to develop and/or improve their technologies, processes and products.”
