INDUSTRY: Site used by Royal Polymers

The former Royal Polymers building at 900 Vidal St. South has been sold to a numbered Ontario company that intends to renovate and lease it to multiple tenants.

Company president Katherine Denesyk said the purchasers are based in Strathroy and expect the deal to close today.

“Over the next few months Sarnia residents will notice improvements to the exterior of the property,” Denesyk said in a written statement. “Interior renovations designed to modernize the building for future multi-use tenants have begun,” she said.

The building, once used by Fiberglas Canada for its research labs, and was most recently leased from a numbered company by Royal Polymers, will be known as 900 Vidal Corporate Centre.

Office space, industrial supply, and research and manufacturing space will be available for tenants by the spring.

“The new owner is excited about his project,” said company spokesman Dan Penford. “This building has been underutilized for many years.”

He said Denesyk is the lone principal for the numbered company.

“It’s a brand new company, just recently formed,” Penford said.

A purchase price will be available once the deal closes.
